Overview

“The Tour is a fascinating discovery of the ancient history and mystical story about the statue of “Venus De Milo” which is one of the most celebrated ancient Greek sculptures. Dating back to approximately 200BC, the statue resembles love and beauty and is believed to depict the
goddess “Aphrodite. The statue was discovered by a Greek peasant in the current village known as Trypiti and due to its location being perched up on the hillside overlooking the sparkling blue Aegean Sea it is believed the statue could also have an affinity to “Amphitrite”, the mystical sea goddess.”

  • The tour begins in the bustling port town of Adamas where the group will gather to board the airconditioned coach and meet their friendly tour guide.
  • Upon arrival, the group will have an opportunity to visit the Archaeological Museum of Plaka.
  • After a brief visit to the museum, the group will enjoy a leisurely stroll up the cobblestone pathway amongst decorative Cycladic homes.
  • People can relax for a while and enjoy a frappe or refreshment or wander around and admire the breath-taking church of Panagia Korfiatissa in which a truly magnificent view awaits rivalling even that of Santorini.
  • Upon reaching the square the group can relax under the trees before boarding the coach and heading towards the Ancient Site of the discovery of the Venus De Milos.
  • Right after, we visit the early Christian Catacombs and the little chapel of Agia Paraskevi carved in a rock on a slope, with beautiful view of Klima the ancient busy port and later fishermen dwellings of unique, colorful boat houses called “syrmata”, where fishermen pull their boats inside to protect them in winter time.
  • Upon arriving at the site, the group will have a chance to admire the location and take a few pictures before strolling to the Ancient Roman Theatre, which is regarded as one of the most beautiful in all of Greece.
  • The group will have time to take pictures and ponder the beautiful view before returning with their guide to the town of Adamas where the tour will reach its end.
